Hat, gloves, and lenses used by McCafferty in the solar burn process throughout his career. He employed different types of lenses depending on the type of burns he wanted to produce, from small pinpoint-size holes to large excavations through several layers of material. He would stop the burning process with his hands, hence the gloves.
